Tonbara Sports client Melanie Forbes remains a steady presence for Ottawa Rapid FC in her second Northern Super League season.

Through mid-June, the Mississauga native has appeared in eight matches, logging more than 518 minutes and scoring a goal. She's been involved in key attacking plays, including Ottawa's dominant 4-0 win over Vancouver Rise FC.

Forbes arrived in Ottawa with a decorated international résumé — top scorer and Player of the Year at Iceland's Keflavík, a promotion-winning campaign with Damaiense in Portugal, and a standout collegiate career at Indiana, where she earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honours and a Master's in Healthcare Management.

In Year 1 with the Rapid, she recorded three goals and five assists as Ottawa finished second in the league and reached the NSL playoffs. Year 2 is building on that.
