DETROIT / TORONTO — Tonbara Sports & Entertainment congratulates MK O'Brien on being selected 34th overall by PWHL Detroit in the 2026 PWHL Draft.

O'Brien becomes part of the first roster in franchise history. The fifth-year forward from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, just completed her tenure as captain of the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs — a program that has produced more than 20 PWHL players during her time there. Last summer, she represented the USA's Collegiate Select team in a three-game series win over Canada's national development team.

"Clearly this franchise is so well supported," O'Brien said at the Fox Theatre. "I am super excited and couldn't be more thankful and honored."
