Program record holder and Female Athlete of the Year declares for the 2026 PWHL Draft

TORONTO / MIAMI / NEW YORK — Tonbara Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of Zoe McGee, a goaltender who recently completed her collegiate career at Ontario Tech University.

McGee, a five-year starter from Kanata, Ontario, leaves Ontario Tech as the program's all-time leader in wins and saves. She capped her career by helping lead the Ridgebacks to their first-ever OUA semifinal appearance in 2025-26, ranking second in the OUA with a .942 save percentage and 162 saves during the playoff run.

Following her final season, McGee was named Ontario Tech's Female Athlete of the Year — recognition for both her on-ice excellence and her impact across the athletic department.

McGee's career began with immediate impact. As a freshman in 2021-22, she was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team, Ontario Tech's Female Freshman of the Year, and the Ridgebacks' Women's Hockey Rookie of the Year. She went on to rank among the OUA's top goaltenders in each of her five seasons, finishing second in the conference in saves during her junior year with 720.

Off the ice, McGee was a four-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian and recipient of the Bob and Sallie Baun Award. She served as RLC Vice-President of Athlete Engagement and as a Ridgeback Student-Athlete Mentor, helping first-year student-athletes navigate the transition to university life.

McGee has declared for the 2026 PWHL Draft, which takes place June 17 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit.
