Tonbara Sports Signs Toronto Sceptres Draft Pick Alyssa Regalado
Three-time Ivy League champion and U18 World Championship gold medalist joins the hockey division
TORONTO — Tonbara Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of Alyssa Regalado, a defender selected 68th overall by the Toronto Sceptres in the 2026 PWHL Draft.
Regalado, a Mississauga, Ontario, native, was drafted by her hometown team after a decorated four-year career at Cornell University. A three-time Ivy League champion (2024, 2025, 2026), she recorded 64 points (16 goals, 48 assists) in 134 career games and earned All-Ivy recognition in three of her four seasons — including First Team honours as a freshman and an ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team selection.
Her defining collegiate moment came in the 2025 NCAA Regional Final, when she scored the game-winning goal, sending Cornell to the Frozen Four. A reliable two-way presence, she finished second on the team in blocked shots as a senior and was used on both the power play and the penalty kill throughout her career.
Internationally, Regalado won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2022 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship.
At Cornell, she played alongside current PWHL players Rory Guilday (Ottawa Charge) and Katie Chan (Vancouver Goldeneyes). She credits watching their professional journeys as motivation for her own career.
"Alyssa has championship experience at every level — U18 Worlds, three Ivy League titles, and a Frozen Four run," said Patrik Darabont, Founder & Principal at Tonbara Sports & Entertainment. "She's a smart, reliable defender who delivers in crucial moments. Toronto is getting a player experienced in winning.
