NJCAA All-American striker in top form in Germany

TORONTO / BREMEN — Tonbara Sports & Entertainment is pleased to announce the signing of Nicholas Bianchi, a centre-forward currently playing for Werder Bremen III in Germany's Bremenliga.

Bianchi, a 5-11 striker from Scottsdale, Arizona, joins Werder Bremen III after a well-travelled college career in which he competed at three levels. He is currently in excellent form with the German club.

In 2022, at Pima Community College, Bianchi earned Second Team NJCAA All-American and United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II All-American honours. He scored a team-high 16 goals with nine assists in 17 games, leading Pima to a 10-4-3 record and their sixth straight trip to the NJCAA National Tournament. His performances included a hat trick against Scottsdale Community College.

Bianchi then transferred to Gonzaga University, where he competed in the West Coast Conference. As a junior in 2023, he appeared in 17 games, scoring two goals — including a game-winner against Saint Mary's — and led the team with a 72.7% shot-on-goal percentage. He completed his senior season in 2024 before moving to professional soccer in Germany.

Before joining Pima, Bianchi spent two seasons at UNLV, appearing in 15 NCAA Division I games. His path from Pinnacle High School through the JUCO ranks and back to D-I reflects the persistence that has now brought him to Europe for soccer.

Werder Bremen III competes in the Bremenliga, the fifth tier of the German football pyramid. The club is part of the storied SV Werder Bremen organization.
